Florida Retirement System (FRS): A state sponsored retirement system offering investment and pension plans.

Health Insurance: PSO offers a variety of plans to meet you and your family’s health insurance needs, which includes employer/employee paid contributions. Members who participate in PSO medical insurance also have access to our agency partnered medical clinic, which provides full medical services, prescriptions and more.

Dental/Vision Insurance: PSO also offers optional dental and vision plans.

Supplemental Insurance: Pasco Sheriff’s Office offers a number of supplemental insurance plans including, but not limited to, cancer or critical illness plans, medical bridges and short-term disability.

Deferred Compensation: Members may choose to contribute through payroll deduction into 457 Deferred Compensation Plan up to the annual IRS contribution regulations.

Employee Assistance Program: Provides confidential, short-term counseling to our employees and their family members at no charge, regardless of whether or not they are covered by our group health insurance.

Paid Group Life Insurance: PSO provide all full-time members with $50,000 life and $50,000 AD&D insurance at no cost to the member. Additional life insurance can be purchased through PSO and is available through payroll deduction.

Pre-Paid Legal Services: The Florida Sheriff’s Association provides this program to Pasco Sheriff’s Office personnel. Available services include preventative legal service, trial defense, identity theft and more.

Flexible Spending Account (FSA): Allows an employee to have pre-taxed dollars payroll deducted and placed into their individual FSA account for use in reimbursements for medical and dependent care expenses. Members can contribute up to the annual IRS contributions per calendar year.

Dependent Care FSA: Allows an employee to have pretaxed dollars payroll deducted and placed into their individual Dependent Care FSA account for use in reimbursement of qualified expenses including day care centers, preschool, and before/after school care for eligible children and dependent adults. Members will be able to contribute up to annual IRS contribution per calendar year.

HSA Account: This account allows an employee to have pre-taxed dollars payroll deducted and placed into his/her individual HSA account to use for qualified medical and dental expenses.

College Tuition Reimbursement: PSO provides tuition reimbursement to members seeking bachelor’s and master’s degrees.

Paid Holidays: The Pasco Sheriff’s Office recognizes the following holidays:

Vacation/Sick Time Leave Accrual: At the time of hire, civilian employees accrue 3.7 hours of vacation and sick leave every pay period and certified employees accrue 3.93 hours of vacation and sick time each pay period. Vacation accrual increases incrementally based on years of service. Eligible employees may participate in the sick leave pool as well as the Attendance Incentive Program offered annually.

Florida Pre-Paid College Program: State sponsored tuition assistance program for your children.

Family Support Network

The Pasco Sheriff’s Family Support Network provides support for the family members of front line law enforcement. This is achieved holistically through physical, emotional, mental and spiritual means. Throughout the year, FSN hosts family-friendly events and seminars.

Gym Facilities

Every Pasco Sheriff’s Office location has recently updated gym facilities available for employees. PSO also has a Human Performance Advisor on staff to assist members in achieving their physical fitness goals.

Peer Support & Mentoring

PSO has a strong mentoring program, along with a Peer Support Team, to assist members not just at the onset of their career at PSO, but throughout their career.

Extra Duty Details

Ample opportunities exist for certified members for extra duty work throughout the county for additional income.

New Hire Referral Incentive

Members may receive an incentive if they refer someone who is hired by PSO.
