A disabled veteran who has served on active duty in any branch of the Armed Forces and who has an existing service-connected disability commensurable under public laws commensurable by the Veteran’s Administration.
A disabled veteran who has served on active duty in any branch of the Armed Forces and who is receiving compensation, disability retirement benefits or pension by reason of public laws administered by the Veteran’s Administration or the Department of Defense.
The spouse of any person who has a total & permanent service-connected disability and who, because of his/her disability, cannot qualify for employment.
The spouse of any person who is missing in action, captured in the line of duty by a hostile force or forcibly detained or intervened in the line of duty of a foreign government or power.
A veteran of any war who has served on active duty of 181 consecutive days or more, or who has served 180 consecutive days or more since January 31, 1955, and who has discharged or separated there from with an honorable discharge from the Armed Forces and such active duty was performed during the wartime era. The Pasco Sheriff’s Family Support Network provides support for the family members of front line law enforcement. This is achieved holistically through physical, emotional, mental and spiritual means. Throughout the year, FSN hosts family-friendly events and seminars.
Pasco Sheriff’s Office has recently updated gym facilities available for employees. We also have a Human Performance Advisor on staff to assist members in achieving their physical fitness goals.
PSO has a strong mentoring program, along with a Peer Support Team, to assist members not just at the onset of their career at PSO, but throughout their career.
Ample opportunities exist for certified members for extra duty work throughout the county for additional income.
Members may receive an incentive if they refer someone who is hired by PSO.
